About us
Kindubeams is a family kennel. There are 6 souls all together included in our kennel; Besides myself Liz and my daughter Madeleine, Basenjis Tindra, Zomba, Pepzi and Candy. My oldest daughter Evelina lives here partime as well and is a great help. My sons Emil and Daniel help out when they visit or I ask nicely=).. We all share the caring of the dogs and puppies ,but I am the one that pulls all the strings. Let me tell you a little bit about myself and the rest of Kindubeams: My name is Liz and I was born and raised in America, but moved to Sweden in my early twenties. I’ve always been an animal lover. I’ve had pets at home as long as I can remember. My first very own pet was my cat Tussy, my parents gave her to me at the ripe age of 2. I loved her dearly. I showed her at the local cat show and she won the whole show!! Thus my show interest begins…….. She lived to be 19 years old!!
My first dog was a mutt named Becky, she was a cross between a beagle/ datschhound. She was given to me when I was 12 years old and oh, how I loved her. She was my everything, my best 4-legged friend! She was such a sweet obedient dog, she followed me everywhere and that was her death, unfortunately. She died in a “hit and run” accident, she got hit by a car one dark evening coming to me across the street and died in my loving arms. I was 20 by then. I still miss my sweet Becky dearly and I will never forget her. I couldn’t show her , but my best friend Cindy had a Papillion named “ K.O. von Sanctuary Woods” who was a famous American champion. A mean little thing, but a great show dog. I remember Cindys dog book, I’d look at all the different breeds for hours. I must have looked and read that book a million times. Thus my breed interest begins……… Besides Tussy and Becky , I had fishes , a cockatiel and a hamster farm. I started out with Charlie Brown and Lucy and ended up with at least 6 hamsters. I bred them and sold the hamsters young ones to the neighborhood kids and the local pet store. I guess that was the beginning of my kennel career. Unfortunately, I have no pictures of my sweet hamsters.
After Becky died I bought a white cat named Bowie. She had one blue eye and one green/grey eye, thus the name Bowie. I gave him to a friend when I moved to Sweden. I’ve always loved children and animals. They seem to be drawn to me and visa versa. My best friend Cindy and I had our very own animal club when we were children. We even had a club theme song and everything…… Presently, I’m engaged to a wonderful man and proud mother of 4 children, and last but not least, a happy basenji and gerbil owner.Since my former marrige we had a beautiful male cat “Tisse” , whom vi had to put to sleep at 8 years old, because of our daughters allergies, a guinea pig, walking pins, and a bunch of rabbits, dwarf Vader rabbits. We bred them for a while until our daughter became allergic to those as well.
We have great plans for our future family owned Basenji Kennel! We plan raising loving, healthy, wholesome, standard meeting, sound basenjis. That is what we strive and hope for and with love and caring, that is what we’ll achieve.
